Birthday Weekend...Day 2

Hudson jeans, Elizabeth & James shirt, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Jessica Simpson sandals, F 21 necklace
(also a bday present)
We started the evening out at a Smashing Pumpkins concert at the Cosmopolitan hotel followed by dancing at the Artisan hotel.  It is an uber cool and somewhat dark boutique hotel located off the main strip.  It is slightly reminiscent of the haunted mansion at Disneyland clad with mirrors on the ceilings, impressive art work, and it's very own gothic-esque chapel.

Next time you come to Vegas you can adjourn your evening just as we did, enjoying the most amazing tacos at Los Tacos Gordos.  It is located on the Strip and open all night.

My Birthday Weekend ... Day 1

China date ranch is near Tecopa, California. It's a quaint little farm with a sense of humor ranging from fake alligators and beware sign's to minuscule museums. If you are on your way to Death Valley and would like to enjoy both the richness and the sense of humor that the Mojave desert has to offer, make sure to stop by and taste a plethora of tasty dates at the China Ranch. Also, don't leave without having a date shake!! Who would have thought that ice cream and dates would meld so perfectly.

The dates are covered with recycled clothing before they are harvested to protect them from the birds.

We stopped by a new Venezuelan food stand located on Las Vegas Blvd. on the way back from the ranch.  I love arepas and Las Vegas was in much need of some Venezuelan sustenance.  (imagine a bread made with corn flour and stuffed with cheese, meat, veggies, and anything else you are in the mood for)

I really love birthday cake!  I had three birthday cakes starting with carrot, lemon, and cookie cake ending with fried ice cream.
Alexander Wang sweater, Alice + Olivia leather skirt, BCBG booties, Kate Landry bag, DVF bracelet
(the booties and the bracelet were birthday gifts)

...ended the evening with dinner at Gonzalez & Gonzalez located at the New York New York Hotel &  Casino....lively venue, disappointing cuisine....the only tasty things on the menu were the chips & salsa and the fried ice cream....

Restaurant Week/Fashion's Night Out

Annie Creamcheese- the coolest vintage on the strip

Jean-Michel Cazabat shoes, Elizabeth & James pants; James Perse shirt

I am so happy that Vegas participated in FNO this year! Last year the events were scarce and barely worth mentioning. This year we decided to just go with it. I am a big fan of Fashion Police therefore there was no competition as to where I wanted my night to begin.....watching Giuliana Rancic and her hubby host an excerpt for Fashion Police at the Palazzo.  We then enjoyed Hors d'oeuvres and sparkling wine at DVF and as well as others.  We concluded our night by dining at Milo's at the Cosmopolitan and it was by far one of the most amazing meals I have ever had.  It is a must if you are in Vegas!!!

RESTAURANT WEEK cont.

Skate with hericovert at Comme Ca

cool hockey table at the Cosmopolitan Hotel

I love restaurant week!! The most amazing restaurants around the nation prepare a prix fixe menu with a percentage of the proceeds going toward charity. We made a three reservations for this weekend! Last night we went restaurant hopping and had so much fun. We started out at Bar Masa which is located in the Aria Hotel. It is Japanese cuisine that I must say was not so impressive. The portions were minuscule and the flavors were nothing out of the ordinary. We then walked over to the Cosmopolitan and enjoyed drinks at STK. We ended our culinary hopping experience at Jean Georges steakhouse which is also located at the Cosmopolitan. We had dessert and appetizers, being that our appetite was not completely satiated after our negligible meal. My tuna tartar was so flavorful. My favorite thing was how they offered popcorn at the bar while you waited for your food. It was flavored with rosemary, cayenne, salt, pepper, and olive oil. I think we consumed more popcorn than anything else!!
