Boulder City

I have mentioned Boulder City on many occasions.  It is a great way to spend an afternoon.  First and foremost,  you need sustenance.  You can begin your day with a local favorite at The Coffee cup.  It has been featured on Food Networks Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.  They offer breakfast and lunch, however, breakfast is my favorite.  Afterwards,  you can spend an entire afternoon meandering in and out of a bevy of antique stores.   I have visited the area many times and have yet to see them all.  This small town has so much character and you can see the individuality in each and every store.  After your long day,  have some ice cream at the old fashioned ice cream parlor.  Lastly, on your way out,  continue just a few miles and stop to check Hoover Dam out.....if you still have the energy.

2nd Act

This is a great little boutique located in Summerlin.  It's been open for a little over a year and offers an eclectic mix of designer labels and vintage finds.  This store is based mainly off of consignment, so if you are looking to get rid of some forgotten favorites, this is a great place to make some more shopping money.

Christmas spirit

There is something so magical about Christmas in Las Vegas.  It may have something to do with the fact that we erect ice skating rinks on the Las Vegas Strip, create snow out of thin air in Town Square and offer Gondola rides through a Winter Wonderland.  Their is so much to do all year round, but during the holidays, it really makes you want to get out there and experience the cold weather festivities.  It allows us to forget that we live in a desert.

This is our version of Rockefeller's Christmas tree.  There is an unveiling ceremony with snow falling from "the sky".

Concert

Gloria Trevi, a Spanish rock star, performed at the House of Blues venue in Mandalay Bay on Friday.  For those of you who are not familiar with her, she is a provocative and energetic entertainer who has not lost her touch.  She has made an amazing come-back after a long hiatus from the music biz.  I found  this jacket in the back of my closet and thought it would be perfect for a concert.  It is a Guess jacket and it must be about 10 years old.  I have a habit of hoarding my clothes, and on nights like this, I am happy I do.
