Let's face it....when you think of Las Vegas, culture isn't the first or tenth word that pops into your head. I am quite certain that there are many other words that flow through your stream of consciousness before culture. However, if you took the time to visit our downtown area, I think that would quickly change. Downtown Las Vegas has a burgeoning Arts District that is sure to impress. If you are like myself, and like the more characteristic side of town, then you should definitely experience First Friday. On the first Friday of every month, the Arts District closes many of their streets and gets the party going. Envision a block party dedicated to the artsiest and most creative people our small city has to offer. This is an event where there is something for everyone. Park anywhere off of Charleston street and explore all that the event has to offer. If you are an avid vintage shopper or an art enthusiast, there are a plethora of vintage stores (old Vegas homes turned businesses) and art galleries that you can enjoy. You can meander in an out of galleries, go food truck hopping, enjoy some drinks, watch break-dancers, or simply people watch. Enjoy!
