Winter Casual

boots, Kenneth Cole; Poncho, vintage; jeans, True Religion; bag, Cole Haan.

I love this poncho. It used to be my Mom's when she was younger. She bought it when she was living in Venezuela and has now passed it on to me. Isn't it so cool? These boots are amazing! I bought them about eight years ago at Kenneth Cole and they never go out of style. They seem to make every outfit better!

Serendipity's famous frozen hot chocolate

We recently checked out Serendipity for lunch. This place is not only adorable; the food is really good. It is a perfect place to go on a date or have lunch with the girls. My husband and I sat outside and people-watched. It was such a fun lunch date. They are best known for there frozen hot choclate which tastes like a perfectly iced chocolate milk. You have to order one! They come in all different flavors and they are perfect for sharing....or not.

Black Bear Diner

It is also a great place to pick up some pastries for a a quickie breakfast.

My favorite part of the day starts out with breakfast. It is, in my opinion, the best meal of the day. Therefore, it should definitely not come as a surprise that every time I hear about a new breakfast nook in town I have to check it out. The "Black Bear Diner" has been around for a while and I just recently heard about it on yelp. My husband took me there for a Valentine's Day breakfast and I have to share with you the level of "cuteness" this place displayed. There were stuffed animal bears in my peripheral at all times!!! They were everywhere. You have to check it out for yourselves. The food was tasty, however the atmosphere is what makes you want to go back for another visit.

Simon's Brunch

I can't believe I forgot to mention the all you can drink add-ons!! Choose all you can drink mimosas and bellinis or bloody mary bar!

Alexander Wang skirt, Elizabeth & James shirt, BCBG cuff and booties, Forever 21 bag, Mike & Chris leather jacket.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I am spending it with my wonderful husband. Today, was girls day. We spent the day at Simon's which is located in Palms Place. We had the most amazing all you can eat brunch there! You are given a menu with the most interesting breakfast concoctions. I have to mention that the corn flake crusted french toast is delectable. While you are waiting to be served there is also a serve yourself buffet line featuring sandwiches, paninis, sushi, fresh juices, smoothies not to mention several others. Dessert is brought to the table on a platter showcasing your favorite nostalgic desserts. Amongst the childhood favorites is an enormous cotton candy tumbleweed. Last but not least, on the way out you can serve yourself a to-go mini carton of your favorite candies located on a candy shelf. Fun!

New Bar In Town

Rich & Skinny jeans, Mike & Chris leather jacket, Mossimo T, Cole Haan bag, Nina shoes

Last night, we went to a fairly new bar located here in the valley. It is called BAR. It is cleverly named after a UNLV student who was born and raised here, hence the BAR for born and raised. Don't you love that?   They have a bevy of sliders and the decor is something to be desired. I love the quirky and eclectic vibe of their furniture choices. There are multiple seating areas. My favorite has chairs in the center of the bar that are mismatched and paired with an industrial table to anchor them. They are surrounded by great "club like" booths and multiple TV screens. The "BAR" boasts of cool art prints, great bar tables, amazing seating areas, and unexpected touches like Vegas yearbooks to flip through. The food was not amazing, yet decent. The atmosphere more than makes up for the lack of culinary eats.

Frank Sinatra

After the show we went to "Steak and Shake" to satisfy our late night cravings. It is new here in town. It is located at the South Point and we have been wanting to check it out since its grand opening. Unfortunately, we were not the only ones coveting the Strips newest burger. The wait to get inside was at least one hour during it's first few weeks. We had to wait about 3o minutes, but it was definitely worth it. The milkshakes are amazing and the hot dogs were to not be shared.....yes, that 's how good!  It is a great place for the family or for large groups due to the inexpensive prices.

My favorite thing to do, besides shop and eat, is combine the latter with a show. Enjoying dinner and a show are my idea of a perfect date. I love music from the days of yore, hence my love for Frank Sinatra. I love the relaxed/cool vibe that his music evokes. My husband surprised me with tickets to the newest Vegas show, "Dance With Me". It is staged in a bar setting featuring couples dancing to Frank Sinatra's very best. The show also features a live orchestra. If you are like me and you like watching people dance and love listening to music, you will love the show. I wish they would have had more scene changes which would call for more costume changes as well. However, I was not disappointed.
